More Things To Do When You Have NO Clients…

Last week I wondered if I would have another day with NO clients.  I thought my first client didn’t show, but she called to reschedule and her phone started breaking up so she wasn’t removed from the book.  Then someone else called for an appointment, but called back later to cancel.  Meanwhile, I asked how it worked to get nail services at our Spa.  I was told the hardest thing is getting on the schedule.

Minutes later it turned out their was an opening to get a pedicure!  I took lunch and had the most wonderful pedicure – a warm neck wrap, massage chair and soft music.  Heaven!  While I relaxed in the chair, I had time for some prayer and meditation.  I asked for God’s will.   The day was up to Him.  I let him know that I’m here and ready to be of service, to help people look and feel fabulous.

Funny thing, right after my pedicure my Manager told me, “I just booked you three clients for this afternoon’!  Yay!  Thank you God!

So my ‘downtime’ recommendations include:

  1. Get a pedicure!  LOL  Of course that won’t work every time, but Self care is very important, especially when you give  so much to others.
  2. Prayer and Meditation – as a Christian, I believe it’s important to stay connected to the source that all good things flow from.  Ask for that next right step.
  3. Arrive on time and stay there for your scheduled time.  It’s easy to start running out, going on errands, spending time in the mall, etc.  It’s like Murphy’s Law, as soon as you leave, that’s when someone calls or walks in.  Not keeping ‘Salon hours’ will slow your growth.
  4. Look the part!  Dress for success (clothes, hair, make-up as appropriate) and bring your best attitude!
  5. And last but not least, create a 1 day only ‘special offer’ and post it on your social media page.
